New Metro Skywalk Between Blue & Aqua Line Eases Life for Thousands of NCR Daily Commuters

The new skywalk between Blue Line of Delhi Metro and Aqua Line of Noida Metro gets operational from October 2, 2025. This project comes with a direct link between Sector 52 (Blue Line) and Sector 51 (Aqua Line), which has been a missed link for thousands of daily commuters in Noida and Delhi NCR.

This covered, air-conditioned path is 420 meters long and 5 meters wide. It has moving walkways and lifts. The path is covered and will have travelators running at 0.5 meters per second for comfort and easy access for all people. NMRC used ₹40 crore to take away the old tin-shed footway and put this new modern structure.

Before the skywalk, people had to step out and face the sun and the rain and heavy traffic just to change trains. Some used e-rickshaws between stations making for a slow and not always safe transfer. Metro traveler numbers in Noida will climb as seamless transit inside draws more dwellers to use the network.

The timing is crucial for the region’s growth. Noida and Greater Noida keep expanding with offices, high-density housing, and new projects. Better connectivity reduces dependence on cars and autos, supporting cleaner and more reliable urban travel. More people will skip a cab or shuttle service and opt for public transport, easing congestion and pollution.

Integrated ticketing between NMRC and DMRC is now available, so passengers can book and pay for both networks on a single app. For commuters, this means fewer queues and no more buying separate tokens for each metro operator. Officials have confirmed work is underway for a fully unified QR-code system, promising next-level convenience soon.

This skywalk marks a major step toward a unified urban mobility solution for Delhi-NCR. It simplifies interchange, saves time, and delivers a safer, cooler experience for everyone. The benefits extend to workers, students, and families living or commuting between Noida and Delhi each day.

The NMRC’s executive director, Shri Mahendra Prasad, mentioned that only the final details are left. He instructed staff to finish the work by September 30. The air-conditioned walkway will open for public use on Gandhi Jayanti. This opening represents progress and connectivity for the area.

For thousands in Noida and Delhi NCR, the new skywalk means more than just infrastructure. It is a game changer for daily life. It represents smart growth, improved planning, and a future where the metro is truly accessible to everyone.
